All the bands were excellently rad. They all had different but yet still amazing shows. I loved all the stuff I got the chance to witness. Very few joe public took the risks to come and see something they hadn’t before. Far to much going on at one time in the city to get good attendance to shows.
A friend said something about even on a basic level the amount of effort put in by bands, management, venues, promoters, technicians festival staff etc, Its amazing after all this that its not obligatory that people should go to shows.
All in all awesome shows with limited crowds. I still loved it.
Hi there, I saw you mention you work with olympians, i've seen them a couple of times now and they're always really good! Also i've taken a scroll down your blog and i've been to a lot of the arts centre gigs you've been to, good music man!
I’m the main sound engineer at the arts centre, so yep seen loads of bands. Perk of the job i guess. I love the olympians, I get to help them out with gigs every so often. You should find and follow Olympians tumblr as its ace.
Lots has happened in the last week, or at least I feel like it has. Work has been really busy with what can seems like a late start to touring season. We’ve had Little Comets, The Rapture, Fairport Convention, Cocos Lovers and a bunch more. Its been awesome to be busy at work and have all the shows selling really well, but I guess I wasn’t ready for it yet. I’ve been feeling all exhausted all weekend. So next week I shall regroup and get back on track again. ( I even neglected keeping by tumblr up to date - the shame). I’ll wack up some photos from last week in bulk to make up for it.
Also I recently got two kittens so that has been awesome but also distracting.
I will be going to Primavera Festival in Barcelona. I have my Propass and will be going back again to watch tonnes of ace bands. Working there last year was amazing but should be double the fun this time as my partner is coming along with 2 other close friend and we also have a brilliant apartment to stay in.
